Pastor David Called Into Ministry
A Deeper Revelation
Within weeks of being set free by the power of God, God revealed Himself more completely to me. At that time I found my past ideas about God being confronted by His word, the Bible. I decided not to yield to tradition, the arguments of men, or even my own preconceptions, and I found myself being transformed by the Word of God Itself. God was revealing to me, from His Word, that He had given His Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, to all who believed and would receive. I had come to the Word and had to decide whether to believe the Bible or reject that part of it, for my life.
What I was hearing seemed to go against everything I had known about the Holy Spirit and how God would operate through His Church. Yet, I could not deny what the Bible said and about the gift God has given to the church.
Prayer
And so I prayed,
God, I do not understand this completely Lord, but your word is clear, you have given your Holy Spirit to the church and those who believed were filled with the Holy Spirit and His gifts.
Dear God, I want all that you have for me, you are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. If receiving the Holy Spirit is accompanied by gifts, I want everything you have for me! In Jesus name, Amen!
The gift of the Holy Spirit
And in a moment of life changing prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me and immediately I was filled with the Holy Spirit with an experiance just as God described in Acts chapter 10. I felt God's prescence and power on my life, and during my prayer and worship, He Powerfully filled my prayer to speak out His word and will for my life.
Never had His love for me and His purpose for me been so clear. As the days went on and I continued in this anointing I knew that God had filled me to empower me to live for him and serve Him. The Bible is true, His word is true, He wants a close and intimate relationship with you. He wants to empower you to live and be led by Him. He wants to empower you to serve Him with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
Now the Bible made more sense to me. During prayer times, the Holy Spirit would reveal to me areas in my life of unforgiveness or offense, wounds, hurts and disappointments. He revealed how the enemy had used these things to gain a foothold in my life. I confessed and repented of this sin so that I would never let this in my life again.
He revealed these hidden wounds so that I might confess, forgive, and be supernaturally healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I saw my life changing everyday, being free from the past, I was ready to embark on a new stage of my life, full time ministry! After graduating from Arizona State University, God confirmed to me that I was to go and prepare for ministry at ORU.
I want to invite you to give your life totally and completely over to God. When you give your life totally to God, your life is going to radically change! But God has even more for you, receive the gift promised by the Father and be filled by His Holy Spirit.
Pray this prayer out loud and from your heart:
Dear God,
I want to live for you, yet I know I cannot do it. I need your help. I believe that you sent Jesus Christ your only begotten Son to earth, I believe He lived life without sin, and that when He died he paid the price for my sin. I believe He took my sin from me and gave me His righteousness. Forgive me of my sins, I receive you Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Help me Lord to know you and to live for you.
Lord, I want all that you have for me. I completely yield my life to you alone. So, I ask you, from my heart to fill me with your Holy Spirit now, in Jesus' Name.
Now, take a moment and let God fill you.
Later, tell at least 3 people that you know, that you have given your life to God and received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Read your Bible, start in the New Testament in the Gospel of Mark or John.
Go to church this Sunday, if you can, come to the Life church and sign up for Life 101.
We have a gift for you! Let us know about the great decision you have made, your life will never be the same in Jesus name.
